Fred Kling III, EA

Fred has been a tax accountant for more than 41 years. He followed after his father who was a self- employed accountant in Michigan. Fred earned his associates degree in accounting from Macomb Community College in Warren, MI and Chandler/Gilbert Community College in Gilbert, AZ. He opened an accounting practice with his cousin in 1980, buying him out in 1982. In 1986 Fred sold his business and moved to Arizona with his wife and three children. Fred went to work with the law firm of Brown & Herrick working directly under his mentor, Jim Knollmiller, a tax attorney and CPA, until 1989. Fred earned his EA credentials in 1989 after successfully completing the IRS’s enrolled agent exam. He also decided to open his own accounting firm once again. Fred bought out another accounting practice in 1991 which doubled the size of his firm. The company has continued to grow each year to where it is right now. In 1992 Fred obtained his license to sell securities and has blended wealth management into his practice in order to provide a more rounded financial practice. He specializes in small business taxation and accounting, as well as representation of clients before the Internal Revenue Service and also at the state level.

Fred is also a member of NAEA (National Association of Enrolled Agents), NSA (National Society of Accountants), and NATP (National Association of Tax Professionals). Fred served as the Vice President and President for the state board of NATP, as well as the Treasurer, Vice President, and President of the National Board for NATP. He has traveled throughout the country visiting and helping other practitioners. Fred also taught accounting on a voluntary basis at Chandler/Gilbert community college.

Fred resides in Bellaire, MI where he and his wife have now moved to begin their slowdown towards retirement although they have no plans on quitting in the near future but Bellaire will be their permanent residence. He enjoys spending time with his wife of 49 years, Carol, and his three children and eight grandchildren. He loves to golf and really enjoys building projects.

Carol A. Kling

Carol began her accounting career in Michigan in 1977, in the accounting department of the nation’s largest pork packing business. In 1983 she left that company to help her husband in his tax and accounting practice, in charge of bookkeeping and office management. After moving to Arizona in 1986 Carol procured a position in one of the valley’s largest property management companies. She quickly moved up to become their accounting supervisor. She left in 1992 to again help her husband in his new accounting practice in Arizona, taking charge of the bookkeeping and assuming the position of office manager. Carol’s current role at Business Accounting Solutions LLC consists of payroll, payroll tax problems, bookkeeping, and office management for a staff of 3. She also prepares more than 100 individual and business tax returns annually. Carol sat for the EA exam and passed in 2005. Carol also sat for the RTRP exam in 2012 and passed. Carol attended college in Gilbert at the Chandler Gilbert Community College with an emphasis in accounting and math. Carol is a member of NATP, attending many tax and accounting seminars every year.

Carol is the proud mom of 3 wonderful children and 8 grandchildren. Carol enjoys reading, walking. She also likes to volunteer with various non-profit organizations.

Bethany A Means

Beth has been involved with Business Accounting Solutions LLC for the past 19 years. She is in charge of all accounting, payroll and sales tax functions in Arizona. Her responsibilities are bookkeeping, payroll and sales tax for our business clients. She also fills in wherever she is needed and is usually that friendly voice you hear when calling our office in the summer. Beth has attended many educational classes to increase her knowledge in the accounting field at Mesa Community College, as well as classes through the National Association of Tax Professionals and the National Association of Enrolled Agents. Beth has a passion to take great care of our clients in all their accounting and payroll needs. She helps both Carol and Fred with questions regarding payroll and sales tax issues. Beth’s hobbies include a passion for photography as well as enjoying a good movie. She has two wonderful daughters, one is a graduate of ASU in education and is now a school teacher and has also worked part time here.
